naijafutbalplus report that Peters says the company will not relent in their efforts at boosting soccer in the country, and confirmed that this year’s edition of NFF-AITEO Awards will hold on April 1st in Lagos.
Peters promised that the 2019 event will be greater than the inaugural edition, which held on 19th February 2018 at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He added that AITEO, who are also sponsors of the CAF African Football Awards, have perfected arrangements to expand the guest-list, honour more legends of the game and guarantee greater panache on the night.
CAF President Ahmad, FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura, members of the CAF Emergency Committee, prominent political stalwarts in Nigeria, renowned administrators, football legends, stars in entertainment and media owners would be among the invitees.
Last year’s edition marked the first time the nation’s football governing body organised an awards ceremony to reward and inspire men, women and teams that have brought Nigeria soccer glory over the years.
Peters said at the event: “The amazing power of football to heal wounds, enrich the gifted and entertain the majority is the reason why AITEO, Africa’s leading energy solution company, is investing in the game.
“We remain grateful to the Nigeria Football Federation for giving us the opportunity to begin charity at home.
“We also praise the leadership of the Confederation of African Football for providing us with the platform to be part of the continental terrain.
“AITEO is an organization that is committed to the vision of every African realizing his potential, whether they be in football or some other profession.
“Our business principle revolves round encouraging and empowering the teeming youth population of this country, and of this continent, to take their destiny in their own hands and aim for the very top.”
